2026 Topps Midnight Football Checklist and Autograph Guide

2026 Topps Midnight Football is scheduled for preorder October 12 at 1 p.m. ET. The product brings Topps Midnight's black Chrome look to football with a 100-card base set, a large rookie group, themed inserts, short prints, autographs, and autograph relics.

Verified October 3, 2026 using the official Topps Midnight Football page, Topps release calendar, and official checklist linked by Topps. Dates and availability can change.

What the 100-card base checklist contains

The official checklist runs from card 1 through card 100. It mixes established players with rookies marked by Topps. Confirmed veteran and star names include Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes II, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Christian McCaffrey.

Topps marks Fernando Mendoza, Jeremiyah Love, Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate, Drew Allar, Caleb Downs, Carson Beck, and other members of the 2026 class as rookies in the base set. A player's presence in the base checklist does not guarantee that the same player appears in every insert, parallel, or autograph set.

Inserts and short prints to identify

The checklist names several distinct insert families:

• Celestial Roots, pairing the night-sky theme with stars and rookies;
• Constellations, built around two-player combinations;
• Dream Land, Earthshine, Insomnia, and Nightball;
• returning Twilight short prints; and
• the new Night Night short-print set.

Do not identify a short print from a dark background alone. Match the printed card code, player, insert name, and official checklist. Our card identification guide explains the full process.

The autograph program is broader than one set

Topps highlights returning Rookie Horizon Signatures, Horizon Signatures, Stroke of Midnight Autographs, and Rookie Jersey Autographs. New football autograph families include Midnight Oil Marks, Moonlit Materials Signatures, and Dark Matter Autographs.

The checklist also identifies base-card autographs and additional signature groups. These are separate card types. Match the subject, set code, serial numbering, and relic language rather than comparing every Midnight autograph together.

Relic autographs require extra checks

Topps describes REM Relic Autographs as horizontal rookie autographs with two memorabilia windows. Moonlit Materials Signatures pair rookie autographs with premium memorabilia. The existence of a relic subset does not mean every box or every autograph contains memorabilia.

For a thick card, inspect corners, edges, surfaces, the autograph area, and both relic windows. Select a holder based on the actual card thickness using our card storage guide.

Before entering a preorder or buying on eBay

Confirm whether the offer is a sealed box, an individual card, a future shipment, or a break spot. Topps has published a checklist, but the product page reviewed does not state every box guarantee, pack count, or direct price. Do not copy configuration claims from a different Midnight sport or year.

If you want one player or one design, singles provide more control over the exact card and condition. If you want the opening experience, compare only the same sealed format and include shipping and taxes in the total.
