The Fine Print

Affiliate & marketplace disclosure

No legalese, no burying the lede: here is exactly how this site makes money.

I sell the cards myself

The CardBoard Report is run by an active collector who sells cards directly. When this site links to a storefront or a specific listing on eBay under the handle @thecardboardreport, those are my own listings. If you buy one, you are buying from me — the site owner — and I earn the sale price like any seller on eBay.

Some links are affiliate links

Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links — specifically through the eBay Partner Network (EPN). If you click one of those links and make a qualifying purchase, this site earns a small commission from the platform.

This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you arrive through a link on this site or go to the marketplace directly. The commission comes out of the platform’s side, not yours.

What that means in practice

  • Links to marketplaces from the shop page, articles, or the newsletter may earn this site a commission and/or a direct sale.
  • Affiliate relationships never change what gets covered or recommended. Analysis and pickup calls are written first; links are attached after.
  • Monetized outbound links are marked up with rel="sponsored" so the relationship is machine-readable too.
  • Nothing on this site is financial or investment advice. Cards are collectibles; buy what you love.

Why disclose

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires sites to clearly disclose material connections between a publisher and the products or platforms it links to. This page — plus the disclosure notes near monetized links — is that disclosure. If anything here is unclear, reach out via the about page.
