2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball is now scheduled for preorder October 6. Topps has aligned the date on its current release calendar and product page, replacing the conflicting September dates shown when this guide was first published.

Updated September 28, 2026 using the Topps release calendar and official product page. Dates and availability can change.

What Topps confirms about the checklist

The product page describes a 300-card base set. Topps highlights the first official rookie cards of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson, and Keaton Wagler. It also calls out the first LeBron James 76ers card and Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat card in the product.

Those are manufacturer claims about this set. When shopping, still match the visible card, number, team, and subset to the final checklist.

Variations and inserts

Topps lists Number, Team, Golden Mirror Image, Wood, and new Clear Variations. Confirmed insert concepts include Poster Factory, Drivers, and a design based on 1981-82 Topps Basketball.

The page also describes short-print or premium chases such as All Kings, Quest for the Crown, and textured Bounce cards. A variation name in a listing title should be supported by checklist information and photographs. Our identification guide explains how to document exact versions.

Relics and autographs

Topps highlights game-used memorabilia in Flagship Real One Relics, Own the Game, and Roundball Remnants. Autograph families include Real One Autographs, Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs, New Applicants, and Level Up.

Relic and autograph names can look similar across listings. Read the printed card text and checklist entry. The collecting glossary explains relics, autographs, parallels, and short prints.

How to evaluate the preorder

Before paying, save the listing description and check:

  1. whether the item is a preorder or in hand;
  2. the exact box or product format;
  3. the seller's estimated fulfillment date;
  4. cancellation and return terms; and
  5. whether the image is a mockup or the exact item.

Do not use an early asking price as a value prediction. Our price research guide explains how to wait for comparable sold results and compare the exact card.

This preorder sits inside a busy October 5-7 release window. Compare it with the other products in our October release hub. For a premium basketball alternative, use the Pristine Basketball guide.
