The 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball checklist is live, and Topps' current product page and release calendar list November 5 as the release date. The 300-card base set covers veterans, retired players, team cards and a 2026 rookie class led in Topps' preview by AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson and Keaton Wagler.

Collectors also have seven announced formats to distinguish. Hobby, Hobby Jumbo, Value, Mega, Fanatics Value, Hanger and Fat Pack configurations do not carry the same quantities, guarantees or exclusive parallels.

This guide expands our Flagship Basketball preorder overview. Use it with the basketball cards hub, checklist-reading guide and price research guide.

Official sources checked October 22, 2026. The hero integrates official Topps preview cards into original CardBoard Report blueprint artwork for editorial identification; pictured cards are not store inventory.

Current release date and the earlier October 22 reference

The live Topps product page and release calendar currently say Thursday, November 5. An earlier Topps Ripped format article states an October 22 street date.

For planning purposes, use the current November 5 date and recheck it before ordering. Do not assume an older article establishes current availability, and do not treat a preorder seller's estimated shipment as the manufacturer release date.

How the 300-card checklist is organized

The official Topps checklist numbers the base set from 1 through 300. Topps describes the composition as 200 veterans, 40 rookies, 30 team-combo cards and 30 retired players.

The rookie portion includes AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Keaton Wagler, Mikel Brown Jr., Darius Acuff Jr., Kingston Flemings, Morez Johnson Jr., Brayden Burries and others. Use the PDF rather than a seller-created “top rookies” list when confirming whether a player belongs to the base set or only an insert.

Team assignments in this article reflect the manufacturer checklist checked on October 22. If a player moves teams later, the printed card and checklist entry remain the correct identifiers for this product.

Seven formats with different contents

Topps' official Ripped format guide provides this comparison:

Format Announced configuration Key distinction
Hobby Box 20 packs, 12 cards per pack; one autograph or relic Victory parallels and Player Number Variations
Hobby Jumbo Box 10 packs, 28 cards per pack; one autograph and one relic Sandglitter parallel family
Value Box 6 packs, 12 cards per pack; six inserts Season Tip Off parallels
Mega Box 12 packs, 15 cards per pack; four 1981-82 inserts Largest retail box by announced card count
Fanatics Value Box 8 packs, 12 cards per pack; nine inserts One Topps Foil Pattern parallel per pack
Hanger Pack 48 cards Two Diamante parallels and one 1981-82 insert
Fat Pack 24 cards; two inserts Compact retail entry point

Read the full offer before buying. A Hobby Box guarantees one autograph or relic, while Hobby Jumbo announces one autograph and one relic. Those statements are not interchangeable.

Rookie cards, inserts and variations

The checklist places the rookies across numerous insert families, including Class of 26, Crafted Excellence, Generation Now, New School, Rookie Code and rookie versions of Levitation. A player appearing in several sections does not create duplicate base cards; each section has its own code and design.

Topps also identifies Number, Team Color Border, Golden Mirror Image, Wood and Clear Variations. Clear is new for 2026-27 and Topps describes it as acetate and numbered to 10. Verify a Clear listing with the card's construction, back, checklist section and visible numbering.

Named chase inserts include All Kings, Quest for the Crown and Bounce. The official checklist shows Bounce subjects such as Stephon Castle, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant and Keaton Wagler. Do not label an ordinary action photo as Bounce without matching its design and checklist entry.

Autograph and relic families

The 57-page checklist separates autograph sections that include:

  • Flagship Real One Autographs
  • Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs
  • Rookie Photo Shoot Dual Autographs
  • New Applicants Autographs
  • Level Up Signatures
  • Rookie Pathway Signatures
  • 1981-82 Topps Autographs

Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs include AJ Dybantsa and a wider group of 2026 rookies. The checklist confirms subjects and codes, but it does not make a particular signer a box guarantee.

Topps also previews game-used memorabilia in Flagship Real One Relics, Own the Game and Roundball Remnants. For a single, match the exact relic or autograph family, player, parallel and serial number. Our game-used versus player-worn guide explains why the wording printed on the card matters.

Odds remain a separate verification step

As checked October 22, the Topps odds directory does not list a 2026-27 Flagship Basketball odds sheet. The official format article supplies configurations and guaranteed contents, while the checklist supplies subjects and card families. Neither should be used to invent pull odds.

Wait for the matching manufacturer odds document before making numerical rarity claims. Format exclusives also need exact wording: an exclusive parallel family can contain multiple tiers with different availability.

Which format fits your goal?

Choose Hobby Jumbo when the announced autograph-and-relic combination is central to your decision. Choose standard Hobby when you want the Hobby insert pool with a lower announced card count and accept an autograph-or-relic guarantee. Retail formats make more sense when their exclusive parallel family or purchase size is the actual target.

If you want one rookie, autograph or variation, buying the exact single after release gives you more control. Inspect front and back photographs and use our raw card condition guide before comparing sold examples.

Next step: choose one rookie and one format, save the official checklist code for your target, and recheck Topps' November 5 release page before purchasing.
