If you are researching 2026 Topps Chrome MLS Sapphire, start with the dedicated Sapphire documents. Topps describes the product as a Sapphire treatment of its 2026 Chrome MLS release, with colored parallels, autographs and Infinite Sapphire inserts. The official product page links both the checklist and odds sheet.
This guide focuses on identifying the card you want and understanding the published odds before comparing listings. It expands the MLS Sapphire entry in our October release hub and sits within our new releases coverage.
Sources checked October 9, 2026. Topps cautions that actual contents and odds may vary, and a subject is not guaranteed in every parallel or variation. Use the linked documents again before buying.
What the dedicated Sapphire checklist contains
The official Sapphire checklist lists three families:
- Base Cards: 200 numbered entries.
- Infinite Sapphire: ten entries, marked exclusive to the Sapphire configuration.
- Chrome Autographs: 80 entries.
These counts describe checklist entries, rather than the number of cards in a box. For a player collection, search each family separately.
Useful player and rookie card numbers
Here are starting points from that same official checklist:
| Player | Base number | Rookie label in checklist |
|---|---|---|
| Lionel Messi | 10 | No |
| Mateo Silvetti | 40 | Yes |
| Son Heung-Min | 68 | No |
| Adri Mehmeti | 87 | Yes |
| Antoine Griezmann | 152 | No |
| David Beckham | 173 | No |
Messi also appears as Infinite Sapphire IS-1 and Chrome Autographs CA-LM. Beckham's autograph code is CA-BE. Robert Lewandowski appears as CA-RL in Chrome Autographs; he is absent from the 200-card base list.
Use those codes to narrow a search, then check the seller's photographs. A player name alone is not enough to identify the intended card. Our card identification guide provides a repeatable way to record the year, product, card number and version.
Selected official Sapphire pack odds
The dedicated Topps Sapphire odds sheet gives these rates:
| Card family or version | Published pack odds |
|---|---|
| Base Card Gold Sapphire | 1:5 |
| Base Card White Sapphire | 1:8 |
| Base Card Orange Sapphire | 1:9 |
| Base Card Black Sapphire | 1:22 |
| Base Card Red Sapphire | 1:43 |
| Base Card Padparadscha | 1:213 |
| Infinite Sapphire | 1:80 |
| Infinite Sapphire Padparadscha | 1:4,056 |
| Chrome Autograph Sapphire | 1:70 |
| Chrome Autograph Gold Sapphire | 1:19 |
A rate applies to the named family or version, not an individual player. For example, 1:80 for Infinite Sapphire does not mean 1:80 for Messi's IS-1. Treat the rates as published odds, rather than a promise about your next pack.
Likewise, 1:70 for Chrome Autograph Sapphire describes that specific autograph version. Other autograph versions have separate rows; it is not the combined rate for all autographs. Open the PDF for the remaining entries.
Pack odds and serial numbers answer different questions
Use odds to research how frequently Topps lists a version. Use a card's serial stamp to identify its stated numbered edition.
The linked odds sheet does not provide a complete serial-number ladder. We therefore do not assign a numbered limit to every color here. When comparing a listing described as numbered, request a clear photograph of the stamp and record the complete fraction.
For your research notes, keep separate fields for:
- Card number or autograph code.
- Exact parallel name.
- Serial number visible on the actual card.
- Published odds for that version.
- Condition observations and seller terms.
What to check before buying a box
The official product page identifies the featured card families but does not state a complete pack-and-box configuration. This guide therefore makes no pack-count or autograph-per-box claim.
Before ordering, ask the seller to confirm the exact year, Sapphire edition, sealed format and expected shipment date. Recheck the official release calendar, which states that dates can change. A calendar entry alone should not be your evidence that a seller has stock ready to ship.
Compare listings for the same card
For singles, use this short buying checklist:
- Match the year, MLS product and Sapphire designation.
- Match the card number and whether the card is base, insert or autograph.
- Verify the parallel and any serial stamp from actual-card photos.
- Inspect the images using our raw card condition guide.
- Research sales for that same version using our price research guide.
- Read the listing's handling, shipping and return terms before paying.
The disclosed eBay searches on this page separate singles, Infinite Sapphire inserts and autographs. They are research paths, not confirmation that any particular card is available or held by TheCardBoardReport. You can also visit our shop to browse the linked store.
If you collect soccer across products, our Royalty Premier League guide offers another product research path. Keep its checklist separate from MLS Sapphire.
Next step: choose one player, record the exact Sapphire card code and version you want, then compare matching listings. Return to the October release hub to plan your next research session.
