The 2026 Topps Chrome Update Series Baseball checklist is live ahead of the November 2 preorder. The official PDF confirms a 200-card base set, separate variation and short-print sections, retail and standard autograph lists, and the return of MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs.

Topps now lists the preorder for November 2 at noon Eastern, or 11 a.m. Central. Start with one player and exact checklist code before comparing boxes, singles or break spots. This guide connects to our Chrome Update preorder overview and focused Rookie Debut Patch Autograph guide.

Sources checked October 30, 2026: the official Topps product page, manufacturer checklist and Topps release calendar. Topps says dates and intended contents can change. The hero and gallery place unaltered official Topps preview cards inside original CardBoard Report blueprint framing; pictured cards are not our inventory.

The 200-card base checklist

The base set runs from USC1 Munetaka Murakami through USC200 Konnor Griffin. The checklist marks rookies directly, which is more reliable than deciding from a listing title or the player's name alone.

Useful rookie starting points include:

Card Player Team listed by Topps
USC1 Munetaka Murakami Chicago White Sox
USC16 Travis Bazzana Cleveland Guardians
USC54 Chase DeLauter Cleveland Guardians
USC55 Roman Anthony Boston Red Sox
USC60 Jac Caglianone Kansas City Royals
USC69 Bubba Chandler Pittsburgh Pirates
USC79 Chase Burns Cincinnati Reds
USC100 Carson Benge New York Mets
USC109 Nolan McLean New York Mets
USC150 Kevin McGonigle Detroit Tigers
USC161 Samuel Basallo Baltimore Orioles
USC171 Andrew Painter Philadelphia Phillies
USC184 JJ Wetherholt St. Louis Cardinals
USC200 Konnor Griffin Pittsburgh Pirates

Some players appear more than once in the 200-card list. Travis Bazzana, for example, appears at USC16, USC49 and USC119. Record the number shown on the specific card instead of assuming every card of one player represents the same base entry.

Image variations and super short prints

The manufacturer separates these sections rather than treating every alternate photo as one category:

  • Image Variations: 25 subjects, led by rookies and stars including Murakami, Bazzana, Roman Anthony, Kevin McGonigle, Andrew Painter, Jose Altuve and Konnor Griffin.
  • Rookie Super Short Prints: 10 rookies—Murakami, Bazzana, Chase DeLauter, Caglianone, Carson Benge, Colson Montgomery, McGonigle, Sal Stewart, Wetherholt and Griffin.
  • All-Star Game Super Short Prints: 10 subjects including Bryce Harper, Juan Soto, Mike Trout, Bobby Witt Jr., Junior Caminero and Jacob Misiorowski.

A checklist appearance confirms that the card family exists; it does not reveal the odds of pulling one. Match the player, card number, photograph, finish and back of the card before calling a listing a variation or SSP. Our card-identification guide gives you a repeatable process.

The insert map

The checklist supplies exact codes for the product-page themes:

Insert Checklist size Example
Alter Ego Super Heroes 10 AE-3 Roman Anthony
Glass Canvas 20 GC-10 Shohei Ohtani
Major League Minis 10 MM-1 JJ Wetherholt
Helix 10 HX-16 Munetaka Murakami
Hidden Gems 5 HG-11 Aaron Judge
Paradox 20 PX-1 JJ Wetherholt

Topps describes Glass Canvas as retail-exclusive on the product page. That establishes a retail path, but it does not identify a particular retail box or pull rate. Confirm the live format description and exact odds sheet before assigning an insert to a specific configuration.

The checklist also continues Diamond Moments with cards DM-51 through DM-75 and contains separate Autumn Ascensions, Celebracion, Locked In and other insert families. Use the printed prefix when searching; a broad player search can mix base cards, inserts and autographs.

Retail and standard autographs are separate lists

The official PDF has a Chrome Update Retail Autographs section followed by a larger Chrome Update Series Autographs section. That separation matters. Do not assume every signer in the standard list appears in retail or vice versa.

There are also distinct autograph families, including All-Star Game Autographs, insert autographs, multi-player signatures, carryover Rookie Debut Autographs and MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs. The similar names do not make those cards interchangeable.

Inspect the actual card rather than inferring autograph construction from the product name. For the one-of-one debut-patch cards, continue to the Rookie Debut Patch checklist guide, then use the sports-card collecting glossary when a listing uses unfamiliar autograph or parallel terminology.

What remains unconfirmed for a sealed-box decision

The checklist identifies cards, not pack configuration or guaranteed contents. When checked October 30, the Topps odds directory did not show a matching 2026 Chrome Update Series odds sheet. Do not import odds or guarantees from paper Update, 2025 Chrome Update or the separately listed First Day Issue format.

Before buying, verify:

  1. The exact format name on the live offer.
  2. Cards per pack, packs per box and any stated guarantee.
  3. The odds document for that exact format when Topps posts it.
  4. Whether the offer is a sealed box, loose pack, single, presale or break spot.
  5. The seller's expected shipping date and total delivered cost.

For presales, use our eBay presale buying guide. For odds, use the Topps odds-sheet guide rather than converting a checklist count into a pull probability.

Build a player-first search

A precise search combines year + product + player + checklist code or subset + parallel. Then compare only cards with the same construction, serial number and condition.

The disclosed eBay searches below may return other years, paper Update cards, break spots or mislabeled offers. Review the full listing before buying. You can also browse our current listings; no 2026 Chrome Update inventory is assumed.

Next step: save the official PDF, choose one checklist code and recheck Topps' live offer at 11 a.m. Central on November 2.
