The 2026 Topps Chrome Update checklist confirms the next MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autograph class. Topps describes each card as a one-of-one pairing a rookie's autograph with the MLB Debut patch worn during that player's first Major League game.

The product opens for preorder November 2 at noon Eastern, or 11 a.m. Central. Checklist inclusion does not mean a card is guaranteed in a box, and Topps had not posted a matching standard-format odds sheet when this guide was checked. Use this article with our complete Chrome Update checklist guide and November 2 preorder guide.

Sources checked October 30, 2026: the official Topps product page, 2026 Chrome Update checklist and Topps release calendar. The visuals preserve Topps' Bryce Eldridge preview card exactly and place it inside original CardBoard Report blueprint framing; pictured cards are not our inventory.

What makes the Rookie Debut Patch card different

The defining elements work together:

  • One player: the checklist assigns an RDPA code to the named rookie.
  • One autograph: the card carries the featured player's signature.
  • One MLB Debut patch: Topps states that the patch was worn during the player's first Major League game.
  • One-of-one numbering: the official Bryce Eldridge preview visibly carries a 1/1 stamp.

That construction is different from a standard rookie autograph, a manufactured patch, an unsigned relic or the checklist's separate carryover Rookie Debut Autographs. Search the full phrase and verify the physical card instead of treating every result containing “debut” as the same category.

How to read an RDPA checklist code

The manufacturer groups the cards under MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs and uses the prefix RDPA. Examples include:

Code Player Team listed by Topps
RDPA-BE Bryce Eldridge San Francisco Giants
RDPA-APA Andrew Painter Philadelphia Phillies
RDPA-BC Bubba Chandler Pittsburgh Pirates
RDPA-CB Chase Burns Cincinnati Reds
RDPA-CDL Chase DeLauter Cleveland Guardians
RDPA-JCA Jac Caglianone Kansas City Royals
RDPA-KG Konnor Griffin Pittsburgh Pirates
RDPA-KM Kevin McGonigle Detroit Tigers
RDPA-MM Munetaka Murakami Chicago White Sox
RDPA-NM Nolan McLean New York Mets
RDPA-RA Roman Anthony Boston Red Sox
RDPA-SB Samuel Basallo Baltimore Orioles
RDPA-SS Sal Stewart Cincinnati Reds
RDPA-TB Travis Bazzana Cleveland Guardians
RDPA-WE JJ Wetherholt St. Louis Cardinals
RDPA-TY Trey Yesavage Toronto Blue Jays

This is a research shortlist, not a value ranking. The official section spans many more rookies. Search the PDF for a player's surname, then confirm the RDPA prefix rather than relying on an abbreviated marketplace title.

Do not confuse RDPA with carryover debut autographs

The same checklist contains a section called 26TCBB Carryover Rookie Debut Autographs using the prefix CRDA. Those are listed separately from the autograph-relic section headed MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs.

That distinction gives you a simple rule:

  • RDPA identifies the one-of-one autograph and MLB Debut patch family.
  • CRDA identifies a separate carryover Rookie Debut Autograph family.

Match the checklist prefix, card front and back, visible patch, autograph and serial stamp. A seller's title alone is not enough.

Checklist inclusion is not a pull rate

The checklist tells you which named cards were intended for the product. It does not tell you how often a specific format yields an RDPA, nor does it guarantee that one will appear in a box or case.

When checked October 30, the Topps odds directory did not list a matching 2026 Chrome Update Series odds sheet. Wait for the exact-format document before estimating pull rates. Do not substitute the separately announced First Day Issue configuration or an older year's odds.

Our odds-sheet guide explains the difference between a pack rate and the chance of one specific player.

How to inspect a marketplace listing

For a card at this level, slow the comparison down:

  1. Match the player and RDPA checklist code.
  2. Require clear front-and-back photographs of the actual card.
  3. Confirm the visible 1/1 numbering, autograph and MLB Debut patch construction.
  4. Compare the printed debut date with the official preview and player record when relevant.
  5. Read the grading or authentication label separately from the card's own description.
  6. Review seller feedback, shipment protection, return terms and total delivered cost.
  7. Keep screenshots and the complete listing description with your research notes.

For eligible high-value cards, read our eBay Authenticity Guarantee guide. Authentication eligibility is not a substitute for matching the exact checklist entry and version.

Sealed product or the exact single?

Opening sealed product gives access to the wider checklist but not control over a specific player. Buying a single gives you the ability to inspect the exact card, signature, patch and holder before paying. Those are different collecting decisions.

If the RDPA is the only part of Chrome Update you want, make a player list and monitor exact matches instead of treating any sealed-box price as a direct substitute. Use our sports-card price research guide to separate direct comparables from broader context.

The disclosed eBay searches below can surface older years, unsigned debut-patch cards, break spots or unrelated rookie autographs. Verify the full listing. You can also browse our current listings; no Rookie Debut Patch card is assumed to be in stock.

Next step: search the official PDF for your player, save the RDPA code and compare only listings that show the exact one-of-one construction.
